I did not cry when she left

It pains me to say

Her eyes had closed, and spirit swept

I waited another day

I did not cry when she left

She was a mother I had adored

And when I close my eyes at night

I could swear I see her soar

I did not cry when she left

These years keep passing by

I think of her now and again

But still I cannot cry
