ABOUT

Born in Melbourne, Azzurra was introduced to the music world through her dad who was the lead singer and guitarist of an Italian band and ran an Italian pizza shop.

Azzurra was exposed to an eclectic bunch of greats from a young age; Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, the Motown greats, Italian folk greats and many more. She felt inspired to be a vocalist.

Azzurra began dance classes and singing lessons and was completely taken by the stage. She would study the greats and try to mimic dance moves and vocal range. Azzurra was compelled to be a performer and loved how music could inspire and transform a person's feelings or beliefs.

By high school she joined the school orchestra and the school rock band by then she could play guitar, keys and clarinet.

She started performing with live bands as a lead vocalist. Her dance also became more recognised in 2009 when she received a half scholarship to travel to Los Angeles and study full time dance for a month with world renown dancers in the US.

After that she began to study full time dance in Melbourne at Todd Patrick Performing Arts School, which was a combination of all styles of dance and contemporary vocal training. While training she performed in many venues, competitions and shows including Crown palladium, Xfactor, Melbourne Fashion Week, and has performed in venues around LA, Melbourne and Sydney. She also completed a Bachelor in Music, majoring in songwriting and vocals.

During that time she worked at her family's restaurant, would teach singing and dance classes for kids after school and often made performance nights at the restaurant for the customers.
